Cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR as most people refer to it is a life saving technique used in emergency situation whereby one is not breathing or their heartbeats have ceased. These are situations such as drowning, heart attacks and many other emergencies that require instant life saving. In this regard, CPR certification courses come in handy as one gets to be equipped with these skills and can be useful in cases of such emergencies.

Emergencies on the other hand can never be anticipated and only come when they are not expected with then put one in a compromising situation especially if one had not made an effort in putting in place measures to handle such emergencies. For instance, preparation for handling fires can be done by installing fire extinguishers in case there is a fire incidence.

The same is for CPR; its a necessary skill that one never knows when it will come in handy and there is arguably nothing important like saving a life. It is not hand to master but should at least be learnt the right way in order to also avoid bringing up other complications to the victim in the course of saving their life.

In the world of today, the technology has brought forth more advancements that have helped ease how things are done. In this case, people do not have to attend classes that last 6 or even more hours but instead one can take them from their home which is more comfortable and convenient. This also does not inconvenience people when it comes to their schedule as they can do it in their free time.

There is the option of getting this training via corporate programs whereby organizations equip their employees with these skills as they never know when they come in handy. In regards to time and a little on the finances, this offers conveniences as the time spent is that of the company and one does not have to spare time to do this or their money to pay for the classes.

Some people tend to think just because they have resuscitated a couple of people they are equipped as nurses which is a misconception that may risk the lives of others. This should only be regarded as a way of buying physicians time before they get to the emergency scene by trying to keep the victim alive or otherwise it will be useless to take them to hospital once they cease breath breathing.

Some of the taught techniques are how to do chest compressions, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, checking pulses and determining if ones heart is beating normally. Timing is important when bring a victim back to life as for instance, one should give 2 mouth-to-mouth blows after every 30 pumps. One also needs to know the right place to pump, how to place your hands, and basically just the overall procedure.

With the rate at which people are picking up illnesses due to their lifestyles such as diabetes, stroke or cardiac complications, there is the need for more people to enroll in these classes and acquire these skills as they are handy, and the huge numbers of people who are likely to have emergencies anytime, this number should be compensated by those who are to offer help to save the day.
