By Brenda Howard

People today are more careful about disinfecting surfaces and know more about the dangers of cross contamination than earlier generations. It was not unusual for our ancestors to sit down to eat a meal, cover the leftovers, and leave them on the dinner table until the next meal. Most individuals today are careful to disinfect and want the establishments they frequent to do the same. Many have concerns about the ingredients contained in cleaning products however. Ozone sanitation is the answer to this dilemma.

Aqueous ozone is a natural liquid oxidizer that works thousands of times faster than bleach and disinfects fifty times more effectively. While it is extremely powerful, it is also totally safe because it reverts to plain oxygen and water in less than an hour. It is easy to see why using it instead of products, that are loaded with harmful chemicals that don't as good a job, is becoming so popular. It is over a hundred times more powerful than chlorine and can quickly eliminate pathogens and organic contaminants.

The oxidizer is environmentally friendly in addition to being powerfully effective. It has no harmful side effects on humans or plant life. Because it doesn't require heat, it reduces the energy necessary for many other products. The liquid leaves no byproducts. All that is left behind from the oxidation process is oxygen.

The sanitation method has been approved by a number of government agencies. The Food and Drug Administration has approved it for use in disinfecting food preparation areas, and it complies to OSHA standards. The product meets the guidelines set by the Model Aquatic Health Code that is concerned with swimming health and safety. The liquid has also been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency and is one of only three other similar products to have that distinction.

Swimming pools and water rides are a lot of fun and every summer visitors flock to them. They are a hotbed for germs and pathogens however, and it can be difficult to keep them completely disinfected. Salmonella and E.coli are commonly found in the water. These pathogens can cause serious infections and other physical complications.

Since this product doesn't require heat, it is a great way to disinfect surfaces in areas where hot water is not plentiful enough or not available. This can include outdoor venues and remote locations. It is an excellent solution for portable or field hospitals that may have limited access to a reliable hot water source.

A liquid oxidizer saves money in several ways. Since it is effective in cold water, the necessity for energy to heat water is eliminated. It doesn't take as much time to completely disinfect food preparation surfaces or swimming facilities. The products doesn't require repeated rinsing cycles, which conserves water and manpower.

People are becoming increasingly concerned about the chemicals found in foods, clothing and cleaning products. Using a natural oxidizer to disinfect and sanitize just makes sense. It is safe, effective, and environmentally friendly.
