By Tammie Caldwell

The African people have one of the most interesting histories in the world. In this article, we will revisit the African American history and how the people have advanced over the years. You will notice that there are many Africans spread over the amercing continent. Black people who are in the US fall into the category of descendants of former African slaves.

Even so, a portion became citizens of the US due to marriages and immigration that the places in other country stop. Black Americans are believed to have come from West Africa because of this famous transatlantic trade. The trade was a connecting factor to three continents Europe, America, and Africa.

The European people who had conquered America were looking for cheap labor that was readily available in Africa. The trade encouraged the African societies to sell the errant members of the society. These people had committed certain crimes they were excommunicated from the society.

In some parts, societies took part in the war in order to capture extra slaves who will be helpful in getting products from the European people. This trade is the one that exposed Africans to other nations, which led to the birth of scramble and partition for Africa. The American farmlands needed people to dig and work on them since their natives were few. Therefore, they came to Africa to get slaves to work on these farms.

The other reason it Africa was the best place to get slaves at that time was because they were hard working and could withstand very harsh conditions. The trade became so pronounced such that it led to the development of Europe at the expense of other parts of the world. The first black person got into America courtesy of this trade.

Their population grew leading to them being a part of the current population in America. With time, this slave trade was abolished, and the former slaves and their children could be free to talk and interact with others. Nonetheless, racism grew and took root despite this slave trade being abolished.

Some of the white people usually felt uncomfortable sharing some amenities with the blacks. It eventually led to segregation in t community. Black leaders like Martin Luther Junior championed for the new revolution that would see that the society viewed everyone equally. He led people to do demonstrations along the streets to champion for the removal of specific laws that were causing communities to be separated.

The demonstration that his brave leader lead ushered in a completely new era in America. The back people could now be employed in offices just like their white counterparts. Moreover, public amenities could now be shared equally regardless of the race of societal status. Unfortunately, Martin Luther was assassinated years later but he made it clear that one day America will be a just society. After his assassination, Barrack Obama became president several years later. It was a great achievement for this great nation as it ushered in a cohesive society. In the current times, the blacks are children of slaves while other is immigrants. The nation has become one regardless of mixed race.
