Overview Of ISO 9001 Consulting Services

The International Standards Organization is an international standards body composed of representatives from national standards organizations from 165 countries. This organization created in 1947 aims to produce international standards in industrial and commercial fields called ISO standards (ISO 9001 consulting services).

The operation of ISOS is the subject of criticism, particularly following strong pressure tactics or use of suspicions of corruption in some countries, such as Norway and Croatia by Microsoft in standardization process OpenXML office document format to bring voters to change their position in favor of interests of Microsoft6. It also criticized the ISOS to charge for access to a number of specifications, which is a problem for organizations or projects of limited means who would comply.

Plaka (PLACO - Planning Committee) prepares proposals for planning the work of ISOS to organize and coordinate the technical aspects of work. The scope of work includes the Plaka consideration of proposals for the creation and dissolution of technical committees, the definition of field of standardization, which should be dealt with by the Committee.

Hull (CASCO - Committee on conformity assessment) deals with conformity assessment of products, services, processes and quality systems requirements of studying the practice of this activity and analyzing information. The Committee shall develop guidelines for testing and conformity assessment (certification) of products, services, quality systems, maintaining the competence of testing laboratories and certification bodies. Important area of work CASCO - promoting mutual recognition and acceptance of national and regional certification systems, as well as the use of international standards in field of testing and conformity assessment.

In 1921, the first American Standard Safety (American Standard Safety Code), to protect the eyes and heads of industrial workers is approved. In 1926, the AESC is a facilitator of movement orchestrated by English Charles Le Maistre (Secretary General of CIS) which leads to creation of International Standards Association (ISA). It is a federation of non-governmental standards organizations of fifteen countries, mostly European, with the participation of AESC for the United States and Japan. The French Association for Standardization (AFNOR), founded in 1926, plays a very active role. The ISA and shall, on French proposal, the first international standard on normal numbers.

ISOS defines its objectives as follows: to promote the development of standardization and related activities in world with a view to ensuring the international exchange of goods and services, as well as the development of cooperation in intellectual, scientific, technological and economic fields. The official languages are English, French and Russian.

The main functions of DEVCO: the organization of discussions on a wide scale all aspects of standardization in developing countries, creating the conditions for the exchange of experiences with developed countries; training on standardization on the basis of various training centers in developed countries; promoting study tours specialists standardization bodies in developing countries; training manuals on standardization to developing countries; encourage the development of bilateral cooperation industrialized and developing countries in field of standardization and metrology.

Category Member caller introduced for developing countries. Committees, members have the right to take part in proceedings of any ISOS technical committee vote on the draft standards, elected to the Board and to be represented at meetings of General Assembly. Corresponding Members (of 42) is not active in ISOS, but have the right to obtain information on developing a standard. Members of subscribers pay preferential contributions are able to be aware of international standardization.
