Why It Is Important To Take CPR AED First Aid Classes

By Olivia Cross

As people begin to understand the importance of taking resuscitation courses, they are now joining the classes to get that crucial life saving skill. When you take CPR AED first aid classes, you stand a better chance of helping people who have been attacked by a cardiac arrest. Resuscitation may be needed in circumstances where a person is attacked by cardiac arrest, is chocked by an object, or has almost drowned in a swimming pool.

It can help in incidents where there is a problem in breathing. The main aim of cardiopulmonary resuscitation is to help the people to maintain artificial heartbeat that keeps on pumping blood to reach other body parts especially the brain. If the brain does not get blood supply, it can be fatal.

AED device coupled with manual cardiopulmonary resuscitation using the chest compressions or mouth-to-mouth resuscitation places one in a better position to help persons who are attacked by cardiac arrest. While the time taken by medical team or paramedics to arrive in a scene of accident is pretty little, it is not sufficient enough to allow for a patient who has suffered a cardiac arrest to survive.

If it happens at home and it is in the middle of the night, by the time you call the medical emergency team or ambulance, that patient will have died. Usually, emergency medical response takes little time but then that time is not yet enough to keep the person alive without being resuscitated. The chances of one surviving are high when the resuscitation is done immediately.

Employers are today seeking for people with life saving skill because they can help in adding value to the workforce. If you have trained in this course, you are more likely to be picked from a pool of job applicants. But this should not be the motivation of taking the cardiopulmonary course.

When one experiences pulmonary arrest, there is impaired flow of blood to the brain something that causes the tissue to begin dying. There is a slim chance of one surviving without being resuscitated. While resuscitation does not provide a treatment, it is a first aid to keep the person with artificial supply of blood to prevent sudden death of tissue.

You should have confidence and make sure you only train with the right institution. This can help when you find your skill is needed to save a live. Ensure the institution you enroll in is certified and offers quality training. When you train on how to do the resuscitation manually as well as using the automated external defibrillators, it can help greatly in saving the lives of people who are attacked by this condition.

It is painful when people see others lose their lives simply because they cannot help in an accident that requires resuscitation. If it happens at home and you have no skill on how to offer the resuscitation, you may find yourself confused and unable to save live. But when you have trained properly, you can be a savior.
