All About Cheyenne Arapaho And Its Administrative System

By Toni Vang

None of us can deny the fact that the United States of America comprises of different individuals who come from diverse backgrounds. Some of them are immigrants who settled many years ago as soon as they realized that it is indeed a land of great opportunities. Instead of going back, they decided to settle to raise their children who have since then gotten used to the system. Others get invites to the country as foreign tourists, exchange students and as temporary employees. Two tribes that have learned to live with each other are Cheyenne Arapaho.

These tribesmen and women are located in the west of the state of Oklahoma. Most of them live within the state and have established their jurisdictional areas. They are so organized that they control most of the activities that go on that area on behalf of the overall government. Most of the activities are reported to the overall authority through appointed spokespeople.

An administration must be organized according to the constitution of the country. This is why it has been sub divided into legislature, judicial, executive and the overall tribal council. These branches have representatives whose main interest is to represent the inhabitants in matters of concern. They are either appointed or elected depending on their laws.

For every country that would like to gain a notch higher than others, the economic aspect must be considered. This has been realized because the main assets recognized are the smoke shops and the four casinos. They contribute a lot to the per capita income. This is why the local authority releases information to the people so they can know what is happening around them.

The tribesmen value the education system so much that they have partnered with a local university to form their own tertiary college. This institution is responsible for offering training concerning tribal administration. They nurture the youth to take advantage of residing in this place and gather as much information concerning administration as can be.

It is an arguable fact that it is culture that brings people together since they can do the same things. Both the tribes are considered as one because of the way they work together. They organize for events that focus on promoting tribal content and citizenship, enhancing cultural participation as well. They involve activities such as the traditional dances, pow-wows and traditional singing of the Cheyenne and Arapaho songs. Their cultures are rich enough to connect the youth to the rest of them.

It is indeed the responsibility of the tribal members to focus on training the youth on values rather than vices. This is why they readily offer employment opportunities for them so that they can be responsible in future. They readily recruit the ones who have successfully completed their studies so that they can further their careers. They put notices for them to read through the newspapers.

All in all Cheyenne and Arapaho are two tribes who have learned the value of living together in order to safeguard their interests. This is why they are organized enough to form a systematic form of government that makes them unique from all the other tribes located within the same region.
